I just ran the Tax Planner program. Married Filing Joint, taxpayers both in their 70s with no dependents. However the planner program is showing a $1700 refundable child tax credit. I tried to cross reference to see how it arrived at that without any luck.
Looks like a program bug.

The bug hatched with the arrival of the tax planner. Plenty of folks have brought up the issue but I think the tax planner has a lower priority with Intuit than the main tax software so it hasn't been fixed yet.

I think you can Right-click on it, choose Override and make it a zero quicker than waiting for them to fix it.
