form 8582 for Idaho was available in 2021 ...in 2022 form 8582 was not part of the form listing.
Does anyone know why this form was deleted from the list? this is an important part of the taxpayers long term situation as it relates to his rental property
thank you,
Roger

"Line 16 Rents, Royalties, Partnerships, etc.
From federal Schedule 1, line 5, enter the amount reported on Schedule E earned or received while an Idaho resident or part-year resident or related to Idaho business or property. Report passive activity losses from Idaho activities that are “Allowed” losses from federal Form 8582 and corresponding worksheets."
Does that help?

Not really...it does not answer the the fundamental issue of how to handle a loss going forward as it relates to Idaho

You mentioned a Federal Form. I copied an example where Idaho shows the use is the Federal Form. You mentioned ProSeries tax year 2021. Intuit added a worksheet to the program for Federal Form 8582. Idaho doesn't seem to have a State Form 8582.

Did you start Idaho from having Fed for this client? I found you a help article that might be the explanation for you:

thank you for providing assistance to this matter.
That is the strange part of this issue, I contacted the Idaho people and they indicated that they still use "Idaho form 8582" so there seems to be an inconsistency between how Intuit and Idaho deal with unallowed passive losses. I will just keep digging
thank you

This is all I have from 2021:
"2021 ProSeries/Idaho Readme
Release 2021.290
Items addressed in previous releases
- Form 8582: Smart worksheet added to capture prior year CRD loss carryover. <=====
- Idaho Form 43, line 40, Idaho changed the method of calculating Qualified Business Income Deduction so it is proportional to the Idaho qualifying business activity
- Idaho Form 40, line 25 and Form 43, line 46, Idaho updated the age limit for claiming the Child Tax Credit from age 16 and under to age 17 and under
- Idaho Child and Dependent Care Credit, Idaho increased the limits from $3,000 for one child or dependent or $6,000 for more than one child, to $8,000 for one child or $16,000 for more than one child
- Federal Form 8915-F, Updates in relation to Federal Form 8915-F have been finalized
- Idaho Form 40, line 48, will now include the amount entered for Affected Business Entity (ABE)
- Form 8582, Passive Activity Loss Limitations" <=====
If you follow the instructions for opening the form, does it exist in the Fed 1040 for this taxpayer, and did you add Idaho to that taxpayer after confirming it exists for the 1040? As I noted, the ID package has it as a worksheet, not a separate form, apparently (I haven't looked, but that's what is noted).
