he federal (Form 1040) program does not allow to monitor or confirm the submission of estimated payments to the IRS. The NYS (IT-201) program allows for directing of the e-filing of the estimated payment and provides confirmation of the payment being made. The federal program should have the same functionality. It is very disturbing that the federal payment submission cannot be monitored through the program.

Are you sure that isn't an IRS thing instead of an Intuit thing?

Use the EFTPS system or IRS Direct pay - with either of those you can print a confirmation the payment was submitted timely.

the state (NY) module properly monitors and confirms transmission of the payment to the State. No such confirmation is available on the federal module. The federal module should be modified to follow NYS monitoring of federal estimated payments This is a program flaw not an IRS issue...

If it's a program flaw, what other tax softwares offer that feature?

"the state (NY)" does it, that's what you are saying....ergo, the FEDS have to do/allow it. NOT the program, not Intuit.
