We are trying to e-file state returns non-resident alien with a US Social Security Number. His wife is also an NRA who does not have a US SSN or ITIN. We are filing his Federal 1040-NR - that has been accepted, but the California 540NR  and NY non resident returns are being rejected. The Error Detail is: "The social security number (SSN) provided must be within the valid range of SSNs" Is there a way to e-file this using Proseries and if so does anyone know what it is? Or will be need to paper file the CA and NY returns?
