i have a client who qualifies for the new georgia dependent exemption for unborn children. the snag is the child was born in 2023 so proseries gives me an error message on the birthdate. any suggestions?

If the child was considered born in 2023 wouldn't you put on 2923 taxes ?

This 2022 filing georgia allows for a dependency exemption for an unborn child with a detectable heartbeat. So for the feds the unborn child doesn't qualify, but for Georgia the child does.

Try putting 12/31/22 into Proseries for GA purposes. Not familiar with the GA law but that should fool PS
If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

Thanks for the help. I figured it out. On the Georgia return go to the "other subtractions" worksheet. the first question is about the new exemptions
