Prepared 1040, efile rejected because EIN for employer didn't match the efile data base. EIN for employer was verified with the Employer. No typo's, name is correct.
Unfortunately, I suspect paper filing may be the only option. I can't think of any work-arounds that wouldn't cause more problems.
Did the issuer recently purchase the business and change EIN number? Can you delete the prior one and then enter the new one?
