Hey all,
I am prepping a NJ resident who works for a NY base company. They withhold both NY/NJ state income tax.
In the past, NY mirrors federal wage and NJ is fairly similar to Federal wage. There are minor differences between NJ wage and Federal. I get that. But this year there is over a $600k difference between both. Is there something obvious I am missing as to why there is a HUGE difference?
Client has no clue and I will have him ask payroll but I was curious.......
Thanks,

Base wage should be the same; look at benefit plan provisions.

My first guess is that somebody busted the W-2 when it was prepared.
