Client lives and works in California. he won 1,500 on a cruise the w2g is issued from Miami Florida.. do i have to file a non-resident return for Florida to report the gambling income? I wasn't sure and wanted to double check with you guys, Thank you

Florida doesn't even have a Resident Individual income tax. 😁

Florida is one of those handful of states that doesn't collect state individual income taxes.

ooh yes your right thank you! but just so i know in the future if i come across something like that..what if it was a state that had income tax..at that point would i need to file a non resident state return?

That would depend on the amount of income and that state's filing requirements.
