I e-filed a 990 return and it got rejected. This is our first year filing it for the client. Their previous accountant e-filed it with no problem. Is there somewhere in the program to enter a name control and a foundation code for the client?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Filer's EIN and Name Control in the Return Header must match the name control and entity type in the IRS records.

Does the client have the EIN Letter from IRS?
The more I know the more I don’t know.

The name control on a 990 is on the efile worksheet page. Normally the fist 4 letters of the organization name.
So make sure you have the organization name correct.

Thanks much. Apparently the accountant changed the default name control for the client causing it to get rejected.
