Client had a 1099-R Covid-related distribution in 2020. They failed to report the form since it was an Electronic statement and did not provide it during tax preparation.
Is there any limitation or rule against filing an amended tax return and claim the Covid-related distribution?
Thank you

If client took a distribution, they will have to amend to include in 2020 income - or wait for a CP2000 notice.
The 3yr spread was the default for covid-related distributions. Taxpayer had to elect to NOT have the 3yr spread.

That means amending 2020 and (if it got filed already) 2021.
