If I have a rejected return, is there a deadline for when I have to fix it before I am forced to send it as a paper return?

Is that 5 business days or 5 days of any kind?

I think what you're talking about is how you can keep a rejected return from being late. That is not what I'm concerned about. My client had a 1095-A that they hadn't told me about. Their return was rejected and they're not sure how quickly they can find the form. I'm wondering how quickly I have to get them finished before I have to file a paper return.
I think that if I don't fix and transmit it and transmit it in 5 days, I'll have to have them file a paper return, which is not a good outcome.
I think my only question left is whether that means 5 business days or 5 calendar days. Anyone know for sure?

You have until IRS closes the 2021 efiling which will be in the year 2024. You will not need to paper file.
