On form 5695, if one claims the credit on an initial install and then in a subsequent year decides to add more panels to increase energy production because a homeowners needs changed, can the credit be claimed on the addition?

Other conditions would include whether it's an original installation (in other words, new) and depending on the type of property it is, there may be more nuanced requirements (e.g. fuel cells and solar water heating properties).
