New tax professional here, so I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere or seems simple:
Mom and Dad are not married but have two children. Dad claims children. Mom covers children through Marketplace insurance. Dad has single insurance through employer. Mom always receives 1095-A with her name as recipient. Mom's return is accepted, but Dad's return is rejected because no 8962 is filed with return (as Dad's dependents were covered by Marketplace insurance).
I've entered Mom's 1095-A information onto Dad's return, and then allocated the percentages 100% to Mom. But by doing this, software calculates that Dad needs to repay excess advance of PTC (of $2,700).
Am I missing something? Thanks.
