My client has 2 children who file their own tax returns reporting unearned income. The smart worksheets require input from each child's return, and the parent's return in order to calculate their individual tax. It was awkward to move back and forth between each return. Is there an easier way to cross-reference this information?

print out the parents return and have them at the ready while you prepare the 8615 on each child's return.

You have you post tagged as ProSeries Basic, and this is the one advantage of Basic. 🙂
You can download Professional to use on a PPR Basis. You can also open existing return (but can't print or e-file).
So you can open one of them with Professional, and open the other with Basic.
