I filed the client's tax return. Subsequently, she received another 1099-DIV, so I filed 1040-X. She now tells me that another 1099 was returned to the investment company and they're sending it to her. Can I file another 1040-X?

sounds messy, not sure if youd get it to EFile, but I guess its worth a shot.....your Original column would need to show the Corrected column from the first 1040X, then youd need to tailor the payments/refund portion...I'd wait for whats already been filed to complete processing before sending anything more.

Thanks for your reply but IRS has been "processing" last year's 1040X's for over a year. I have couple of clients where IRS took over a year to process and then told them they have record of receiving the paperwork but can't find it. They want clients to send it in again. Thanks for your help.
