I have been told by several Navy people overseas that they were exempt ofr state taxes. Is that correct? How do I input that in the ProSeries?

It is state dependent.
Check the instructions for their state of record. But most military people choose a state of record where either they are exempt or there is no state tax.
The more I know the more I don’t know.

For Indiana - If box 13b - Active Duty Military Pay is checked in the W2 worksheet it flows to the appropriate Schedule to exclude from state income
