My Client qualifies as a dependent for her federal filing status but is best served to claim herself on her state return. How do I override the status so she can take a personal exemption, especially since she's over 65?
Thank you

Not true, filing status for state and federal can be different.

I agree that some states allow for a different "filing status" than Federal. However, I am not aware of any states that define "dependent" differently than Federal.
