In my office, we have a couple of clients whose returns have been accepted as e-filed with the IRS. But the IRS website has no record of the returns.

There is a time lag between efile acceptance (one IRS system) and when it shows up on the IRS website "another IRS system:". I don't know how long. I think at least a month.
The more I know the more I don’t know.

If you are talking in terms of "where's my refund" on the IRS website, that has not been known to work like a finely tuned Swiss watch. I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over it.

You spoke with IRS or youre relying on the WMR website?
If a return has been pulled into the math errors department (do these hanging returns have anything in common, like additional RRC included n the refund?) , they wont see record of it being received until its cleared that department.
