I have a client that received a W2 for tax year 2019 for $35,000 that had $7,000 Federal withheld and $3,500 CA withheld. In 2021 the client repaid the $35,000 back to the employer and received a corrected W-2. For tax year 2021 I filed out IRC 1341 for the $7,000 for the Federal, but where do I put the $3,500 on the CA tax return? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

"received a corrected W-2"
What year is on this W-2c?
The more I know the more I don’t know.

I just had one of these, I had to pull out the CA instruction booklet to find where/how to enter this.
I took the income reduction on CA, not the credit, Form CA, Part II, Line 16, Column C is where the income reduction goes....you may have to dig out the instructions for claiming the credit instead.
*** Oh wait, you said Corrected W2, I think you need to amend the prior year return for a corrected W2.***
I just had a repayment.

I think you are correct, it would be best to just amend the 2019 tax return.
