Filing a 22 yr old not claimed by anyone in 2021 nor a tax return filed. She had a child born in 2021. No taxable income. Filing for EIP only. The system is allowing the full amount of the Child Tax Credit as refundable. I thought there had to be $2500 income for the CTC? What simple thing am I missing?
If the above is so then 0 income taxpayers can file for the CTC?

You know I have read that multiple times. Even used the Interactive Tax Assistant. But I had not absorbed the line about no income. I knew I was missing something. I just had to get away from that return for a while. Thank you for your answer.
