So why doesn't ProSeries handle that situation? Simple check: If SSTB AND income over limit, then exclude. As far as I can see, we have to say it's not an SSTB to get the deduction, which isn't exactly true.

I am confused. You prefer a default that it's not SSTB with check box to say YES SSTB? I can live with it the way it is.

No. I prefer to be able to accurately answer whether the business is or is not a Specified Service or Trade, and then have ProSeries check that value in conjunction with checking Taxable Income to determine if the person gets the deduction or not. Instead, as near as I can tell, I can't just say whether or not this is a SSTB, but answer based on the TI as well. Or maybe I'm missing something.
