We just talked to Lacerte support and they have no update scheduled and no idea when they will get the state forms available for print. This delay is holding up my ability to do business. I am thinking a class action law suit may be in order.

I certainly agree.
This CA form printing delay is preventing us from completing our work and billing for it. For anyone using the deferral option for software purchase, Intuit needs to delay the Feb. 28 deadline date until we're able to collect on our work & receivables.

Same goes for those of us who use the "pay as you go" (REP) option. As soon as you click diagnostics, that return is on the very next monthly billing from Lacerte....although the tax return can't be finished, can't be given to the client with the big watermark across the page and if the client can't look it over and authorize e-filing, the return can't be filed. Yet Lacerte demands payment for the "processing" which only amounted to viewing the diagnostics. Something has to change here....

AND if you are 12 seconds late with a payment, they shut down access to all software.
I had a REP payment (I have them automatically hit my credit card) that 'bounced' because my card was compromised requiring a new one. Yes, my fault for not updating the payment method. BUT, after 30+ years of ALWAYS paying on time I would have expected a grace period? Or maybe notification? Nope.

I agree... this is unacceptable. I would be fine if they would allow the client copy of the tax return to print the forms with EFile only on them. But to suppress the form to even be created for the client copy is ridiculous. I'm not trying to paper file anyone... just let me get my billable packets out to my clients!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we are very unhappy with this. Lacerte is supposed to be top tier prep software, and the fact they can't make the state forms available when the state has it posted to their website is really unacceptable. We pay top dollar for this, and have been with them for decades. May be looking elsewhere at the conclusion of this tax season-

CA forms have been final and are being utilized by all the other software companies that I have inquired of. They have been able to file forms since opening day, with the exception of a couple forms that were not final for a day or two. Lacerte has not done the scheduled update for yesterday, 2/4/2025. LACERTE IS NOW PROJECTING THAT THE NEXT UPDATE WILL NOT BE UNTIL AT LEAST THE 10TH OF FEBRUARY. At least one of their other, if not 2 out of the 4, tax software packages have the forms for CA and people are able to file and Print entire returns no problem.
THIS IS 100% A LACERTE ISSUE. The fact that they did not send out yesterdays scheduled update AND they have not sent any information to those of us that have bought this product, is more than negligent. Bad business to treat their customers so unprofessionally. I have been using this product for over 35 years. We will finally be making an exodous this year. It is one thing to blow it or have issues, but it is entirely another to leave us all hanging without any information AND to make the updated forms available for their other software packages. They obviously do not value their Lacerte customers.

Some states are still working on if they are going to adopt the BBB. AZ has an active fight going on between the legislature and the governor on a bill to adopt BBB where the it has been sent to the gov who has stated it will be veto'd.

And the 2026 Estimated Tax Worksheet? Its February 7th AND ITS A WORKSHEET. Looks **bleep** tacky to provide a client a return with estimates and a form that says "not available for release". I am capable of checking that document and knowing what I want on it. I wish you would go back to providing a software to professionals instead of the mindset of your user base is Turbot Tax users that want to prepare returns for other people.

Lacerte needs to focus on the basics like timely updates and finalization of all forms (fed/state) instead of trying to up sale other features or products unrelated to filing tax returns. Long time user of the tax program and very disappointed at this point. They need to do better.

I agree!! I am not getting answers of when California Forms and Ohio Forms for LLC's and S-Corps will be available. It is February 10th and the deadline is March 16th!!!! I think we should look into a class action lawsuit as I heard other tax software has all forms available. No one at Lacerte can give me an answer with a date when forms will be available! This is BS and needs to be resolved today!!

Bare minimum expectation - a post or grid showing the status of these forms & anticipated updates.
When you click the diagnostic link "Ref #61703" "currently being researched and will be available in a future release" - have an update with latest info, please.
I don't want to wait on hold to reach support.
Give us some idea so we can communicate with our clients.
And I agree with sentiment that if forms are not available - we should have some sort of accommodation on fees due. yes, I know I'll start return, may go on extension & can't finish until months later. That's on me & my client. Preventing me from filing when other reputable tax software companies are able to......
Been a Lacerte user over 20 years.....
