The problem is that some people have made it to Level 2 by getting away with asking enough questions that have been answered, to look more or less authentic.  I think you can get to Level 1 just by reading lots of questions, but I'm not sure about that.  So those who can't resist answering a juicy question, even when it's obviously from a new TurboTaxer, has opened the door for a lifetime of free advice.  

And I don't think the posters always know they are in the wrong place.  When I'm Googling, I come across questions in the TT forum.  If someone there had an answer I thought was worth examining, I might be tempted to sign in there.  (I can do that, can't I?)  It probably works in both directions.
