CA form D(540) does not show the correct Sales Price of securities sold if the total in one million. Instead of showing 110,000,000 it shows 10,000,000. The Federal Schedule D and 8949 shows the full correct amount. ( Client is a day trader). Is this a problem with the Lacerte software or the CA form? Any ideas on how to correct it?

I believe it is a font size/formatting issue that there are not enough spaces allowed to PRINT big numbers. The actual amount in the e-file is correct, but you get to be embarrassed explaining the visual presentation on the form. I do not believe that there is a work around. You can contact support to confirm.

Maybe you can print it to pdf and then change it.
Many years ago I had something similar and had to use whiteout. Yes I've been around for a while.
