Troubleshooting Lacerte diagnostic ref. 45630 - Enter driver's license/State ID
by Intuit• Updated 10 months ago
The following diagnostic is generating in the Individual module:
- e-file: As part of the Colorado Department of Revenue's security measures to protect taxpayers against refund fraud and to assist us in verifying TABOR sales tax refund eligibility, income tax returns now require the last four digits of the taxpayer's driver license or ID number, as well as the state that issued it and the issue date. Omitting any of this information may delay return and refund processing. (ref. #45630)
Why is this diagnostic generating?
This is an informational e-file diagnostic. Colorado would like the last four digits of the taxpayer's driver's license number to reduce instances of identity fraud. Omitting this information won't prevent e-filing, but returns with a refund may be delayed.
You can enter driver's license information on Screen 1, Client Information in the section(s):
- Taxpayer Authentication
- Spouse Authentication
