How to resolve ProConnect Tax diagnostic ref. 8461

This article will help you resolve the following error:

• "e-file: Oregon does not allow returns with wage, pension, IRA, depletion, or gambling winnings adjustments on e-filed returns. You must file this return as a conventional paper return." (ref. #8461)

To resolve this diagnostic:

This diagnostic generates when there's an addition or subtraction showing on Sch. OR-ASC without a valid code.

1. Locate and remove the State if Different entries that caused the adjustment(s) on Form OR-ASC.
   • For example, an entry in Input Return ⮕ Income ⮕ Wages, Salaries, Tips in the field State wages, if different (16) will generate the diagnostic.
2. If the adjustments are required, enter them in the applicable input field available on Input Return ⮕ State & Local ⮕ Modifications ⮕Oregon Modifications.
   • Entries in this screen will generate the required adjustment codes.
