How to resolve Lacerte diagnostics ref. 47368 and 47369

This article will help you resolve diagnostics triggered by New York City Form NYC-2.3 and NYC-2.4. The diagnostics state:

  • Enter the greater of the New York City capital base tax or the fixed dollar minimum tax.

The diagnostic appears for Form NYC-2.3 when the totals on Form NYC-2A, page 3, lines 32 through 34, don't foot.

  1. Go to Form NYC-2A, page 1.
  2. View lines 2 and 3, make note of the greater of the two.
  3. Go to Screen 48.093, New York City NOL.
  4. In the Miscellaneous Information section, locate the field Greater of the capital base tax or the fixed dollar minimum tax for the current period [O] (input sheet code 96).
  5. Enter the amount noted in step 2, in this field.

Once this amount has been entered, Form NYC-2A, page 3, line 34 should show the difference between lines 32 and 33 and the diagnostic will clear.

The diagnostic appears for Form NYC-2.3 when the totals on Form NYC-2, page 2, lines 32 through 34 don't foot.

  1. Go to Form NYC-2, page 1.
  2. View lines 2 and 3, make note of the greater of the two.
