How to resolve Lacerte diagnostic ref. 35607

This article will help you resolve the following error in Lacerte:
- e-file: Taxpayer's Indiana county code of residence or work activity is missing or invalid. If the taxpayer is retired, a homemaker, or unemployed, enter the county of residence 2-digit code number in both the "County code of residence" and "County code of work activity" fields. (ref. #35607)
To resolve this diagnostic
This diagnostic generates when information is missing from Screen 3, Miscellaneous Infomation/Direct Deposit.
For a resident:
- Go to Screen 3, Miscellaneous Information/Direct Deposit.
- Scroll down to the section Indiana Miscellaneous.
- In the field County code of residence under the subsection Self (input sheet code 342), use the dropdown options to select the County name.
For a non-resident:
- Go to Screen 3, Miscellaneous Information/Direct Deposit.
- Scroll down to the section Indiana Miscellaneous.
- In the field County code of residence under the subsection Self (input sheet code 342), use the dropdown options to select the County name.
- Select All Other States from the dropdown menu.
- In the field County code of work activity under the subsection Self (input sheet code 343) use the dropdown options to select the County name.
- Select All Other States from the dropdown menu.
The option All Other States can be selected if the county isn't available.
