Common questions for calculating City of New York resident taxes in Lacerte

This article will help you resolve frequently asked questions about calculating resident taxes for New York City and Yonkers.

  1. Go to Screen 1, Client Information.
  2. Scroll down to the New York Information section.
  3. Select an option in the NYC/Yonkers Resident field.

Form IT-360.1 will calculate tax for part-year residents. Visit here for instructions on generating the form.

To complete Form Y-203, Yonkers Nonresident Earnings tax return:

  1. Go to Screen 54, Taxes.
  2. Select Yonkers Nonresident Earnings Tax (Y-203) in the St. Taxes from the top-left panel.
  3. Enter applicable information under the Yonkers Wage Allocation section.
  4. Select General Information from the top of the screen.
  5. Enter the applicable information for Form Y-203.
