How to resolve diagnostic Ref. 8982 in ProConnect Tax

When attempting to e-file your client's return, the following critical diagnostic may generate:
Taxpayer's Signature Date is required for PIN signature e-file returns. (ref. #8982)
To enter a signature date and resolve the diagnostic:
- On the Input Return tab, select General from the left-side menu.
- Click on Electronic Filing.
- Select the e-file Signature Main Form screen.
- Enter the date your client signed Form 8879 Taxpayer’s signature date.
If your client hasn't signed the 8879 yet but you're confident that they'll sign the same day you e-file their return, you can leave the Taxpayer's signature date blank and check the box for Computer date as PIN signature date, instead.
