How to resolve diagnostic ref. 58719 in Lacerte

The following critical diagnostic is generating: e-file: At least one of the following fields must be present on an e-file return: total Income, adjusted gross income, tax on income, total credits, total tax or total payments. (ref #58719)

This diagnostic generates when the return is marked for electronically filing and none of these fields are a part of the return.

Follow these steps to resolve the diagnostic:

• Ensure that the return is complete with no diagnostics before transmitting the return
• For a list of items that are considered income, please see IRS Publication 525
• If the return does not contain one of these items, the return will need to be paper filed
