Exporting Lacerte billing information to QuickBooks

This function is not compatible with QuickBooks online. It will only work with the desktop version of QuickBooks.
How to export billing information from Lacerte to QuickBooks?
- Under the Tools menu select Import/Export Data, then select Export Billing Information to QuickBooks.
- Verify the QuickBooks company file to which you want to export the Lacerte billing information. To choose another company file, click Browse.
- Click Next.
- Select the customer to export the billing information to in the Customer list, and then click Next. If the customer has not previously been entered into QuickBooks, the tax preparer must enter the customer name.
- Select the Option to Export
- To separate billing amounts from Lacerte to QuickBooks, select Export Individual Billing Options
- To export a total billing fee, click Export Total Amount.
- In the QuickBooks Item Code lists, select the item to which you want to export the billing amount.
- Click Next.
- Verify the billing amounts and the QuickBooks items to which they are exporting.
- Click Export
- Click Finish.
If one of the following situations occur when attempting to export the invoice to QuickBooks:
- The Lacerte program hangs at the "Export invoice to QuickBooks...Opening Company File" dialog box and does not continue.
or
- The following message appears "The QuickBooks user has denied access. This application is not allowed to login automatically."
....open the QuickBooks company file and allow Lacerte to interact with the QuickBooks company file.
To allow Lacerte to interact with QuickBooks, follow the steps below:
- First open the QuickBooks Company file in Single-User Mode. To switch to user mode, click the File menu and select Switch to Single-user Mode.
- Then go to the Edit menu and click Preferences.
- Select Integrated Applications and then click the Company Preferences tab.
- Check the box in the Allow column for YYYY Lacerte Tax program to allow access.
- Click OK.
- Then try the export again from the Lacerte Tax program.
