Entering a decedent's Social Security number on fiduciary returns in ProConnect Tax
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
You want to enter a decedent's Social Security number on a Form 1041 return in ProConnect Tax.
How you can find the input for Form 56:
- From the Input Return tab, go to Misc. Forms ⮕ Notice Concerning Fiduciary Rel.
- Enter in Decedent's social security number.
Fiduciary returns generally use the federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the estate that formed when the decedent passed away.
The only form on a federal fiduciary return that requires the decedent's Social Security number is Form 56.
