Entering a decedent's Social Security number on fiduciary returns in Lacerte
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
You want to enter a decedent's Social Security number on a Form 1041 return in Lacerte.
Enter the decedent's Social Security number on Form 56
Fiduciary returns generally use the federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the estate that formed when the decedent passed away.
The only form on a federal fiduciary return that requires the decedent's Social Security number is Form 56.
You can find the input for Form 56 on Screen 62, Notice Concerning Fiduciary Rel. (56).
