Generating Form 7205 in Lacerte

Starting in tax year 2023, you can generate Form 7205 in Lacerte. This Form is for the Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Deduction. To review the IRS instructions, see here. To see how to generate the form in Lacerte, select your tax module:

Generating the 7205 in the Individual module:

  1. Go to Screen 93 EECBP Deduction (7205)
  2. To indicate the Owner or Designer Designation select the EECBP Claimant link under Building.
  3. Under the Building section, select Building 1 or use Add to add additional buildings.
  4. Under General Information select the Form and Activity name or number to link this deduction to.
  5. Complete the applicable sections.

Generating the 7205 in the Partnership module:

  1. Go to Screen 80 EECBP Deduction (7205)
  2. To indicate the Owner or Designer Designation select the EECBP Claimant link under Building.
  3. Under the Building section, select Building 1 or use Add to add additional buildings.
  4. Under General Information select the Form and Activity name or number to link this deduction to.
  5. Complete the applicable sections.

Generating the 7205 in the Corporate module:

  1. Go to Screen 94 EECBP Deduction (7205)
  2. To indicate the Owner or Designer Designation select the EECBP Claimant link under Building.
  3. Under the Building section, select Building 1 or use Add to add additional buildings.
  4. Under General Information select the Form and Activity name or number to link this deduction to.
  5. Complete the applicable sections.

Generating the 7205 in the S-corporate module:

  1. Go to Screen 94 EECBP Deduction (7205)
  2. To indicate the Owner or Designer Designation select the EECBP Claimant link under Building.
  3. Under the Building section, select Building 1 or use Add to add additional buildings.
  4. Under General Information select the Form and Activity name or number to link this deduction to.
  5. Complete the applicable sections.
