Understanding E-file status descriptions

Below, you'll find a list of e-file statuses and what they mean.

StatusDescription
Received by IntuitThe filing has been received by Intuit's e-file servers and will be forwarded to the taxing agency. The filing has already been postmarked with a submission date and time, and can't be retrieved or canceled.
Received by agencyThe taxing agency has received the filing but hasn't accepted or rejected it yet.
AcceptedThe filing has been accepted by the taxing agency.
RejectedThe filing was rejected. You may need to correct errors and resubmit, or if the rejection persists, paper file.

Less common statuses:

  • Conditional Accept is a Form 114 status that indicates you need to correct errors and e-file an amended Form 114.
  • Failed transmission indicates that a filing wasn't received by Intuit.
