How to resolve ProConnect Tax diagnostic ref. 27220

Diagnostic ref. #27220 pops up when an override is entered for amounts used to compute Form 5227, Part V, Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT) Information. Part V should be reviewed for proper footing of amounts.

How to resolve the diagnostic

To remove the diagnostic:

1. Go to Input Return ⮕ Beneficiary/Grantor Info. ⮕ Annuity/Unitrust Distribution.
2. Remove the input in Amount [O].
   • The amount field in this screen is technically an override and will generate the diagnostic.

How does Lacerte compute the amount to be distributed to recipients on Form 5227, Part V, line 1b?

ProConnect Tax computes the amount by multiplying the percentage entered in above and the entry in Initial fair market value placed in trust in Form 5227 under Input Return ⮕ Char. Returns.
