Firm/preparer information missing in ProSeries

Problem:

Preparer Information and Global Billing Options keep disappearing or are missing from the following locations, even when previously entered:

• Tools / Options / Firm/Preparer Info
• Tools / Billing / Set Billing Options / Global Billing Options

Solution:

ProSeries Professional:

Standalone Installation:

1. Close ProSeries.
2. Open Windows Explorer ( Start, All Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer).
3. Browse to C:\Prowin07\Common.
4. Rename SHRFRM07 to SHRFRM07old
5. Open ProSeries.
6. Re-enter your Preparer Information and Global Billing Options.

Network Installation:

1. Close ProSerieson all workstations.
2. Open Windows Explorer ( Start, All Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer).
3. Browse to Pronet07\Common.
4. Rename SHRFRM07 to SHRFRM07old.
5. Open ProSeries.
6. Re-enter your Preparer Information and Global Billing Options.

ProSeries Basic:

Note: ProSeries Basic doesn't have a Global Billing section. ​Instead it uses Rates Per form which can be accessed by opening a clients return by going to:

Tools > Billing > Billing Rates Per Form

1. Close ProSeries Basic.
2. Open Windows Explorer ( Start, All Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer).
3. Browse to C:\Baswin07\Common
4. Rename SHRFRM07 to SHRFRM07old
5. Open ProSeries Basic.
6. Re-enter your Preparer Information.
