Generating Form 8858 for a Corporate or S-Corporation return in ProConnect Tax

This article will assist you with generating Form 8858 in a Corporate or S-Corporate return in ProConnect Tax.

Follow these steps to generate Form 8858 in a Corporate return:

1. From the Input Return tab, go to Other Forms ⮕ Foreign Disregarded Entities (8858).
2. Check the box labeled Print Form 8858 with return.
3. Choose the applicable bubble under Owner / Operator / Interest Holder (MANDATORY). The 8858 should now be generating in the return.
4. Make any other applicable inputs on this screen.
5. From the Input Return tab, go to General -> Miscellaneous Information.
6. Click on the Miscellaneous tab.
7. Scroll down to the Foreign Operations of U.S. Corporations (Schedule N) section.
8. Ensure there are no inputs in Number of Forms 8858 attached [Override].
   • Having an amount entered in this input will tell ProConnect Tax that you’ve completed the forms elsewhere and are going to attach them to the tax return manually, and keeps the 8858 from generating in the return. This will print on Schedule N, line 1b.
9. Enter the Number of Forms 8865 attached, if applicable.

1. From the Input Return tab, go to Other Forms ⮕ Foreign Disregarded Entities (8858).
2. Check the box labeled Print Form 8858 with return.
3. Choose the applicable bubble under Owner / Operator / Interest Holder (MANDATORY). The 8858 should now be generating in the return.
4. Make any other applicable inputs on this screen.
5. From the Input Return tab, go to General ⮕ Miscellaneous Information.
6. Click on the Miscellaneous tab.
7. Scroll down to the Foreign Operations of U.S. Corporations (Schedule N) section.
8. Ensure there are no inputs in Number of Forms 8858 attached [Override].
