How to change your Firm Address

The process to change the firm address that appears on tax returns changes depending on if you e-file returns or not.

If you e-file:

If you e-file, the IRS requires that your firm name and business address match your IRS EFIN Application Summary.

1. Update your EFIN information with the IRS
2. Save a copy of the updated EFIN Application Summary
3. Sign in to My Account.
4. From the left column, select e-File center ⮕ Manage EFIN.
5. Under EFIN Registration, click on the down arrow to choose the reason that best matches your situation.
6. Check the box for I have all the required documents and information to proceed to next step.
7. Click Next.
8. Enter your updated information in the form.
   • Note: This needs to match exactly with the IRS documentation.
9. Choose the Document Type and click Browse.
10. Select the EFIN Application Summary to be uploaded, then press OK.
11. Check the I agree to the Terms and Conditions box.
12. Click Submit.
13. After you receive confirmation that the address has been updated, update your license information:
    • For Lacerte: Select the Settings menu ⮕ Update Preparer Information ⮕ Download Prep File
    • For ProSeries: Select the Tools menu ⮕ License Product

If you don't e-file:

1. Sign in to My Account.
2. From the left column, select e-File center ⮕ Manage EFIN.
3. Under EFIN Registration, select I do not e-file tax returns, but I need to update my firm name or physical address in the dropdown.
4. Check the box for I have all the required documents and information to proceed to next step.
5. Select Next.
6. Enter your updated information in the form.
7. Check the I agree to the Terms and Conditions box.
8. Select Submit.
9. After you receive confirmation that the address has been updated, update your license information:
   • For Lacerte: Select the Settings menu ⮕ Update Preparer Information ⮕ Download Prep File
   • For ProSeries: Select the Tools menu ⮕ License Product

How to change your Mailing Address

1. Sign in to My Account.
2. From the top-right of the screen, select Account.
3. To the right of Account Details, select the Pencil icon.
4. From here you can change your:
   • Phone Number
   • Firm Phone Number
   • Primary Mailing Address
5. Once you've completed your changes, select Save.

How to change your Billing Address

1. Sign in to My Account.
2. From the left column, select Billing ⮕ Payment methods.
3. For the payment method that needs the billing address updated:
   • Select the 3 dots
   • Select Edit
   • In the following Payment method details screen, select Edit
   • Update the Billing address
   • Select Save
