Per Maine Rule 102, entities with a combined tax liability of ${Threshhold} or greater are required to remit all Maine tax payments electronically using Maine EZ-pay, ACH debit, or ACH credit method. As an alternative, if the return is being efiled, you may also use the Direct Debit function within the program to send your payment electronically along with the return.

Lacerte has a system error going on. I can't pay by ACH or override the critical warning with a payment set up in screen 3. It will not eFile. I was on hold with tech support today -- after 45 minutes the phone disconnected. No solution or workaround to this problem. Unacceptable -- it was working fine about 2 or 3 Lacerte updates ago. I expect their answer will be "sorry - you will have to paper file and make other payment arrangements online".
