The following diagnostic is generating: This is a FINAL return and capital gains have not been fully distributed in Screen 7, 1041 Distributions. However, the estate wants to pay the taxes so I do not want to distribute the capital gains to the beneficiaries.

You don't have a choice. That's how it works on a final 1041 return.

Is it possible that this is not really a final return?
