1040. Intuit tax Advisor.  RE taxes on property held for investment are not included in the pre-strategies baseline Itemize Deductions section. If you know why, I would appreciate you sharing it.

Please see the snip below.  6,200 was RE taxes on property held for investment in the 2024 LC program.  Here in the snip, it has been added by me; it didn't come over automatically when I created the tax plan.  So, I added it to Miscellaneous just to get the baseline amounts correct.

No one else has ever seen this problem?  It is a tad mind-boggling that no one has seen this before me.  Maybe very few people use ITA.

39 minutes on phone so far.

Wrap up: 1 hour 5 minutes with no satisfactory resolution except that the problem will be escalated.

Maybe very few people use ITA.

Some people think it's an acceptable way to fly to Rome.

1) Scroll down to the Standard or Itemized Deductions section on the Federal Pre-Strategy Baseline.

2) Click on the "View Input Details Button".

3) Click on the "Taxes" tab at the top and scroll down to the "Property held for investment" field under Real Estate Taxes.

4) Enter the desired amount and click "Save changes to Pre-strategy Baseline".

I posted Kallana's response in this thread and I also requested Kallana to post it somewhere permanent and accessible so others with the same problem won't have to spend time on the phone with someone who probably doesn't know the answer.
