Is a graduate student working part-time eligible for a stimulus payment? Currently lives at home, age 22.

Are parents claiming them as a dependent?

I'll move up the discussion one more notch - does the student provide more than half of their own support?

@IRonMaN "does the student provide more than half of their own support?"
Trying to remember if that matters if the kid's income is less than $4,200.
I suppose the student could be providing more than half the support, from student loans and grandparent gifts.

I figure if she is not going to be claimed as a dependent, the stimulus could go either way. Income is below the $4200, thus making it questionable she pays over half her support and living at home.
Any thoughts?

Put it this way - if there wasn't a stimulus payment out there would you have even hesitated to claim the kid on the parent's return?
