Have you heard of an extension to file to 2016 returns past 4-15-20.  My research which has a date of 4-1-20 says no extension on statute of limitations exists as of that date.  Please let me know.

Thanks,

I was able to find the following FAQ on the IRS web site: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/filing-and-payment-deadlines-questions-and-answers

A22. No, the relief provided for filing Federal income tax returns applies only to Federal income tax returns for the 2019 taxable year. The Notice does not extend relief to any filings or payments for taxable year 2016.

Thanks for your reply.  That was the same research that I found.  Looks like there has been no updated news at this time

I'm catching up on posts today.  You were correct two hours ago.  Then this happened:

@jskouberdis

Could I suggest that you unmark as "solved" that previous answer?  It was correct at the time - but things have changed in the last few hours since you marked it a solved.

Thanks for answering that question.  How do I unmark solution and mark yours as solution

@IntuitCharlene

Can you help 'unsolve' this question/thread?

And I suggest leaving it unsolved, given the dynamic nature of the information flow right now.
