A client (who does this part-time) received this email.  Makes it easier to do a Schedule C.  I'll probably use the lower mileage figure, since it wipes out most of the income (especially after tips) anyway:

Here are your 2025 mileage estimates:

On-delivery mileage (calculated from when you accepted deliveries until you marked them complete. This estimate only includes offers that you completed)

8190.57 miles

Total Dash mileage (calculated from when you start to dash until you end your dash. This estimate includes mileage traveled before, during, between, and after deliveries)

10240.49 miles

Please note that these estimates only include mileage for dashes completed in cars.

NEW FOR 2025: TIP EARNINGS
Starting with the 2025 tax year (through 2028), Dashers may be eligible to deduct certain tip income from their federal taxable income under new federal legislation.

Total tip earnings for 2025: $7153.6

Up to $25,000 in tips per year may qualify for a federal tax deduction

This applies to tips earned through the DoorDash platform

You don't need to itemize deductions to qualify

I also do a percentage of their cell phone because they need this to do the job.  It doesn't matter that they operate at a loss because most of them do.
