I have spouses that have each contributed $4650 to their HSA's and reported it on their W-2 worksheets. They system is saying that there is a $1000 excess contribution but I don't know why. Any thoughts on what I need to differently?

They qualify for $ 3650 + $1000 for being 55 or older on 12/31/2022. Perhaps you entered something by accident. Is either one on Medicare

No neither on Medicare and both have HSA's reported as W on their W-2s. This is the first year that spouse turned 55 so wondering if that's the issue. Its exactly the $1000 that the system is saying is an excess contribution.

Well ended up it was my input error and forgot to mark spouse's W-2 as spouse's W-2. 🙄 Thanks for your response!

yes DOB was entered correctly but I just hadn't marked the spouse's W-2 as the spouse's W-2. Thanks for your response though!
