When entering transactions after typing in the expense account code the program lags for between 0 and 3 seconds before allowing the expense amount to be entered. I have followed every step from past years that would fix this problem but it persists. It's definitely a lag when the program is trying to read the chart of accounts.
What I can't determine is if it's part of this year's update and all the problems that have came with it or if it's related to something else.
Anyone with some advice or tips to try would be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wit's end with this one.

I am with you; it is one thing after the other with the 2025 and it is getting old. I put in a new client, had the same lag problem and now I can't print a balance or income statement. Called and they said it should be fixed last week. Here we are almost a week later and no update. I can't get what I need to do the tax return.

I've done every fix I can find online and some of my own. Nothing. I'm convinced it's related to whatever wrecked the release of the program this year.

Wish I would have thought of this during payroll in January.
This is for networked EasyACCT installation where a client is accessing EasyACCT that is stored on another networked PC and is facing constant freezes when entering transactions (this didn't happen until the updates from January 2026:)
- In EasyACCT right click client
- Click Copy Company
- Choose a local directory (not one on the server)
- Go to the local directory in EasyACCT and enter all transactions, 2nd pass, etc.
- In local directory, right click client
- Click Copy Company
- Choose the original server/network directory
- Choose Overwrite Company
- Congratulations, you've now saved countless hours of freezing and frustration.

Thanks for the info. While it may be a solution, it is a shame that a workaround is needed for software that costs over $1000.00 per year! We are waiting for ALL of the issues to be fixed before we install the 25-26 version. It 's only been a little over 3 months (lol) Maybe it will be corrected before the end of 2026 or maybe it wont.
