If your banking info looks perfect, the software likely has a corrupted "Electronic Filing History" file for that specific company. Renaming this file forces the program to create a fresh, clean transmission record.
1. Close EasyACCT.
2. Open Windows File Explorer and go to your Company Data Path (e.g., C:\EASYW\DATA or your server drive).
3. Look for a file named EFCOMHIS.### (where ### is your 3-digit Company ID).
4. Right-click the file and Rename it to EFCOMHISold.###.
5. Re-open EasyACCT and try to e-file the 940 again. You will have to re-enter your PIN/EFIN, but this usually clears the "invalid format" error.

I just did the update this morning (01/22/26) for the 2025.2.06 version. Just after I went and re-efiled a 940 report and it was successful.
