I had this issue on a few of my clients but not all of them. A fix that worked for me was, in information systems, I deleted all employees on the W-2 input. Then I transferred W-2s from Easy and it worked. I think this created a clean slate in information systems. This fix worked in two different instances for me.

The delete and transfer suggested by the other user worked for me.
